Active Directory Connector

I am trying to install Exchange 5.5 on my WIN 2K AD
server. Is it neccessary to install the Active Directory
Connector if I am running Exchange on this server. When
ever I move to the "From Exchange" tab I receive an error
that the Windows server name is invalid. It is the correct
server.

It is not necesarry to install the ADC just to get Exchange 5.5 installed.
You only need the ADC if you are coexisting with Exchange 2000/2003. Even
then, you can install it on a different server.

I am running Exch 5.5 sp4 on a W2K DC with no problem. If
Exch 5.5 is installed on the W2K domain controller you
don't need the connector. Exchange uses it's own
directory. The connector as I understand it would insure
both directories are the same.
