Active directory and group policy Installation

N

nicholas Incoom

I was working with Windows 2000 Server with Active
Directory Installed and working.I had a problem with the
group policy that I set up with the help of a friend.

After sometime I change an option, that has to do with the
group policy setting. That, I was not sure of, so after re-
starting the system I tried to edit the group policy
setting and the server was telling me that the group
policy does not exist.
I demoted the server to a workgroup and it working fine.
My problem is that I want to install Active Directory
again and implement my group policy because the user are
messing up my setting on the server.
If some body can give me the steps involve in installing
Active Directory, group policy and implementing group
policy on a domain for the users so that the users will be
restricted on what they can and can't do on the network.
Help needed please
Regards

Hi Nick,

To wipe the AD and start from scratch, login to the dc, and goto
Start>run>dcpromo, and follow the wizard. After the reboot, run dcpromo
again to make a new domain.
