Active Applications toolbar missing from Windows taskbar

I've lost the 'active applications' toolbar from my
Windows XP taskbar - so I cannot see what applications
are active on my desktop. The only way I can navigate
active applications is by pressing Alt+Tab.

Can anyone help get this 'active applications' toolbar
visable again - perhaps it is a registry setting Explorer?
Thanks

Do you mean that the entire bottom toolbar is missing, including the Start
button and the notification box at the right? If so, it has probably just
dropped off the screen. Bring your mouse to the very bottom edge of the
monitor screen and see if the arrow turns into a two-ended vertical arrow.
If so, click and drag upwards.

No, I still have all the other attributes of the taskbar
displayed on the screen just missing the part that
displays active applications in the toolbar.

Hope this makes sense

Thanks

Dave,

This is due to corrupt stuckrects key (Taskbar values). Reset the Taskbar to defaults using Taskbar Repair Tool from Kelly, MVP. http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm
