Activation Key

I bought a new computer a few weeks ago and after installing windows, it
looks like I threw away the case as well as my activation key. After a few
weeks I recieved a virus and took it in to get repaired. They called me
today asking for my activation key but I don't know where to find it. I had
registered it over the phone, and I am wondering is there anyway I can find
out my key for it? I'm aware of the strict piracy rules that windows has so
I'm guessing its not going to be easy. Can anyone point me in the right
direction?

Thanks

I would suggest you find another Computer Tech. Any tech worth his
profession wouldn't have to ask you for your Key, (Nor any passwords) They
are redily available to a "Technician".

Download Keyfinder. It works.

Keys yes but passwords, depending on what the situation is, not necessarily.

However, any honest technician -- the only kind worthy of his
fee -- would insist on obtaining and using only the legitimate Product
Key.

I think you will find that most of the 'technicians' are only board
jockeys, tho the bastards charge as if they were qualified.

Depends what you mean by "board jockeys" but if you mean that people who are
"technicians", to you, are people who investigate every little chip and the
printed circuits for irregularities, I call that a time waster when it comes
to just a PC.

I guess I am a "board jockey" because if they have a sound card (or
whatever) that doesn't work after checking out every normal avenue, I chuck
another in and if all then works, problem solved. I charge less than 10%
mark-up on parts and I charge $30 an hour labour unless I have to drive more
than 30 minutes just to get there. I don't see that as unreasonable.
