I installed Vista HP as part of a dual boot system about 8 months ago
and successfully went through the activation process.
Been running fine since then.
For a variety of reasons I hadn't applied any updates for quite a
while and a few days ago decided to catch up.
Downloaded about 50 megs of updates and applied themall only to find
my machine rebooting endlessly.
After a lot fo stuffing around, I was eventually able to reboot into
safe mode and use the restore system to take me back to the restore
poin on the day prior to the updates - which was long after intial
activation.
Again all seemed fine and as I didn't know which updtae caused the
problem and didn't have toime to investigate, I just left things as
they were.
Now after a few days I keep getting a small popup from the system tray
saying "to activate Windows, click here".
I am concerned that I am suddenly going to find that i am not
activated, but why should this happen? Don't really want to go
through activation again.
