Activating Vista Home Basic

Hi everyone.
Last week end i upgraded my OS from XP to Vista Home Basic. All went OK.
But I now want to Activate Vista since the count down is at 26 days. But all
the links to run the activation wizard do not respond when cliked, I've tryed
asking MS for support, but the system just tells me I have to Activate Vista
to access support.
But I can't activate Vista it's a bit of a catch 22!!. I am running Vista on
Dell Inspiron 6000, I've aslo tried Dell but to no avail. Any help is
appreciated.

You can get started with phone activation by typing "slui.exe 4"
(w/o the quotes) in the Start Search box in the Start Menu and pressing
Enter.
The phone activation process takes about 6 minutes.
