Action hyperlinks to slide but not first animation?

I have set up actions to hyperlink to different slides in the same
presentation, however, if I have already displayed a slide with animations
on it, the hyperlink doesn't reset the slide to the first animation but
jumps to the last animatiion played - is there a way to hyperlink to the
first animation using actions?

This is one of those strange and annoying things that PowerPoint does. The
workaround for this is to place a blank slide before the slide you want to
link to. Set the timing of this slide to automatically jump to the next slide
after 0 seconds. Set you hyperlinks to link to the blank slide. PowerPoint
only resets the animations when you advance forward to a slide, so you have
to do this weird thing to fool PowerPoint into advancing forward.
