Acrobat closed but why still in Task manager?

I run XP Prof SP2 and Acrobat 7. When I close Acrobat it still appears in
Task Manager and at present it is using 78,772 bytes of memory. Why does it
remain in Task manager?

I should have said that it remains in the processes tab of task manager not
the applications tab

Hi there...
Open Adobe Reader 7.
t the top click, edit and then preferences.
Under
Categories, click to highlight Startup.
At the bottom to the left, make sure: Show Messages and Automatically
Update is unchecked.
Then on the left, click to hightlight: Updates
Under Update and Notification Check to the right:
Uncheck Notify Me Of Critical Updates....
Uncheck Download Critical Updates...
and
Place a check for Do Not Automatically Check for Critical Updates
Click OK and close it out.
That should solve your problem with Adobe appearing in task manager.
Take Care...
