I'm trying to disable ACPI power button on a publicly accessible Windows
2000 machines. Setting equivalent to "do nothing" when power button is
pressed
on Windows XP. Is there a registy key which can be altered to accomplish this?

Thanks in advance for the help,

I suggest that the Power Button should not be accesible at all on a
publically accessible machine. (I do realize that does not answer
your question. Sorry.)

Well, the sleep button is an acpi device, but the power button isnt...

The way i've got around this before is by hard-disconnecting the button,
then in the power section of the BIOS, make sure its got the option "Power
ON AC" or something similar.

Then whenever the PC is switched on at the plug, the machine will power on.

Hope this helps,
