I've been getting loads of ACPI errors in my event viewer
and trying to get rid of them, Checking the error with
the database suggests updating the bios, which i have
done but still i get this error

Is there a fix for this? Or what can I do?

Have you noticed any instability or problems with the operating system ? In
some
cases this is a false error and should be ignored. Jym

Jym,

If I update the bios and still get the errors everytime the machines reboot,
do you think I can ignore it if everything else seems to work? Where did
you find info that this error may be false? We get it here on all of the
older machines we migrate to winxp. Thanks!

Don't sweat the ACPI errors. All that it means is that you have software
or hardware NOT designed for XP. If everything works...disregard the
errors. I have these errors constantly and you are only going to get rid
of them by either disabling error reporting or running programs
developed solely for XP. Microsoft's database explains this thoroughly.
Some pgms for Win98 may have to be run in W98 or W95 compatability mode
however if they don't run properly under XP mode.

I think that I am correct in this regard. The MVP's will most likely
explain this more thoroughly and most likely will.
