Has anyone sucessfully installed an Acer 3300U scanner in xp please?
I've tried every driver download that exists but although the 'mirascan'
software installs, there doesn't seem to be a driver.
Many thanks, in anticipation

I just let the inbuilt WIN XP usb scanner driver install and it
works without any problems.
Suggest you uninstall whatever you have in the "Device Manager"
for the scanner, OR unplug the scanner and reboot your PC so it unloads.
Then plug your scanner back in and reboot again and let WINXP tell you
it has found new hardware then let it do an automatic install
and "up and away it should go"
I havent installe mirascan so it may be prudent to uninstall that if you
dont have any success with the above.
I have found that the Scanner and camera wizard in
START > Programs > Accessories > Scanner & Camera Wizard is basic but
quite handy and allows you to select what portion of a scan area plus what
and where to save the scanned itenm in iether colro greyscale etc, try it !!

I haven't installed that specific model, but have had good results
with a number of other Acer scanners in XP using their MiraScan
software.

Right now I have an older Acer 610P working just fine with XP Pro on
my own system.

Try unplugging the scanner and removing all entries for it in Device
Manager. Then reinstall the MiraScan software before plugging in the
scanner. It should detect it. If it asks for a driver point it at
the MiraScan folder and force it to use that driver.

Good luck
