Hello.

I have an Acer M5620, Intel Quad Core Q6600 computer, running Vista Home Premium.
It has all available updates but when I go to the Windows Update site it does not show Vista SP1 , just says there are no new updates available.
I am about to go buy XP Pro and get rid of this dreadful OS, I was only keeping Vista until I could see if SP1 made a difference in the way it runs, but if I can't even access SP1 then there's no point keeping it.

Any ideas?

Wait.
I can't see it either. I don't think it's fully deployed yet.

Then why was it offered as an update on my dad's computer? He is running
Vista Home Basic on his Compaq desktop, and he installed it, only to have it
mess up, and he wound up uninstalling it. (I posted here) But it was
definitely offered.

There are over 100 million Vista users in the world.
It would take an enormous amount of server capacity
to offer SP1 to 100 million users all at once.

Ok...so you say that to say what? It *was* offered to my dad. Did Microsoft
make a mistake? Is Microsoft offering it to a just a few computers at a
time? I honestly don't understand what you are saying.
