Accidentally copying web page link into desk top - how to remove?

S

Scottiebov

I have been trying to find a way to remove a link copied into my des
top by accident. The link was cut from an e-mail and pasted onto th
desk top by my young son.
I have attempted to find the link in my start up files without luck.

The symtoms are that I boot the computer and all the initialisatio
takes place, then just before it is complete I then see the web pag
activated in the desk top behind the icons on the screen. It wil
remain prominant on the screen and makes the use of the desk top icon
problematic.

I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction t
erase this simple but annoying activity on my lap top.
Many thanks

Go to the Display applet in Control Panel and look on the Desktop tab. Click
on Customize Desktop, and then click on the Web tab. You will see that
there are checkmarks next to "My Current Home Page" and probably "Lock
Desktop Items". Uncheck these, Apply/OK out.
