Accessing web page and returning to slideshow

E

Eppinette

I'm using a PowerPoint slide show to supply a feed to several networked TV
monitors - a "poor man's" employee communication network. I know how to link
to a webpage during a slideshow, but I can't figure out how to link to a
webpage on an unattended, looped, presentation and then return to the
slideshow, continuing on to next slide in the presentation? Remember, this
is an unattended presentation, so I can't hit the escape key to return to
the slideshow from the webpage. I know absolutely nothing about macros, and
whether or not this is an option for me. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

I have not done this exact thing, but I have used this add-in many times.
Get Shyam's LiveWeb add-in (http://www.mvps.org/skp/liveweb.htm). It opens a
web page directly on your PPT slide. If you were to use an auto slide
transition all should work fine (slide show advances to web page slide, it
never leaves the presentation as the web page is now an element on the
slide, the auto transition time has the slide show advance to the next
slide).

Now *there's* a bizarre thought.

A slide with LiveWeb displaying a web page that's displaying a PPT in the
browser.

I need an aspirin.

Hello Eppinette,

PowerPoint does not provide either of the features that you are looking for:

1) The ability to follow a hyperlink to a web page automatically
(non-interactive presentation)
2) The ability to automatically return from a linked to web page back to
the slide show.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint provide
features for handling the following and returning from linked content
(automatically), without having to resort to VBA, scripting, add-ins or
controls (so that the feature also works when using the Viewer), don't
forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
