Accessing protected files.

When i installed XP Pro sp2 and created seevral user accounts, I made my
documents "invisisble" to other users.
Then my mother board got fried, and I have had to get a new computer.
However the new computer does not recognise the hard disk as valid, and I
have had to reinstall XP on a new disk. I am trying to access my "My
Documents" to restore all my data. But when I try do so, I get the message
"Access denied" I have tried to change the sharing attributes on the
directory but get no joy.
Can anyone help wiht this?

You need to take ownership of the files.
