Accessing Internet Through Router

Mike Warren

My shell program need to communicate with my server program via TCP/IP.

This works fine over a LAN but fails to find the server if it is on the
internet.

The server is only ever referenced by IP address and it works fine when
XP Pro is installed on the same machine.

Can anyone offer suggestion of what I might be missing in my image?

Image size is important and I don't want IE or any of the normal
Windows functions like file sharing etc. I need the networking
functions to be a basic as possible.

Mike,

Does a ping goes through to that IP (Internet) address from the image?

Perhaps you are missing some routing related components such as "Network Routing", "Routing Common Files" and "Routing Table
Library" (this one is probably the most important for you).

No. Pings to any Internet addresses fail also.

Thanks. I'll give that a go.
