Accessing Internet Options

I can access Internet Options from the Control Panel, but
not from "TOOLS" on the IE 6.0 toolbar. This is a new
problem that just popped up. I receive the
following "This operation has been cancelled due to
restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact
your system administrator. I am the only user. I have
disabled and then uninstall all AV and spyware pop-up
blockers, with no success. Any ideas?

Do you have the sbcyahoo software installed on your
computer? (I noticed that your email domain is
sbcglobal.net), the yahoo browser that is installed in
their software will not allow any changes through the
tools or settings...this will stop any changes you might
be normally able make to the browser using tools through
the browser bar. You can remove the software but be
careful not to remove all of it without the help of their
tech support..there is a specific order, if you don't do
it the order specified you will have more problems. If
you need the order let me know...I'll give it to you.
Have a happy!

I'm having the same problem - suddenly I can no longer
access my internet options from the tool bar. In the
process of installing a wireless network for my home, I
reset my options on my explorer to "default" including
the home page. My home page reset to MSN and now I can't
change it - I also get the message "This operation has
been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this
computer. Please contact your system administrator."

My account is an administrator account. I also tried
setting up a new administrator account to see if I could
use it to control my account. New account works fine (I
can change the homepage on it) but I still can't get
control of my home page.

Oh - has nothing to do with SBC or Yahoo - I am only
using the version of explorer that came with XP.

Thanks for the response Deb. I don't use SBCs software. I
am on XP and am using IE 6.0. Someone told me I may have
a virus. If so AVG and Symantec didn't pick it up, and I
have changes to the home page blocked. Anyway I just
tried a repair install. but that didn't work. So I just
got done doing a zero fill and reloading a fresh install.
The OS is on a partition so it was pretty easy. I still
would like to know what that was though?
