accessing domain account when using workgroup

Ok, here is what happened. I have a laptop that is almost always attached to
a domain (we'll call it 'domain.company.net'). A user account resides on
that laptop for that domain. I recently was messing around with the network
settings for this machine and moved to to a workgroup and no longer on the
domain. Now I cannot logon to the laptop because I do not know/remember any
of the local user accounts. Is there a way I can still access the domain
account that is stored on the machine even though it is now on a workgroup?
I have tried using 'domain.company.net\user', but maybe I need to do
something else.

Please tell me if this is at least possible, and if so, how to do it. I
need to access my data.

Thanks!

I'm sorry but you will have to join the computer to the domain again.
Take it to your company's IT Dept. and be nice to them. For future
reference, if you want to use resources on a non-domain network (like
your home Workgroup), do it this way:

Once you've logged in using your domain account (using cached
credentials), and have an IP address on the home network, you can map
drives, use printers, whatnot, very easily - one way, in a command
line:

net use x: \\computername\sharename /user:computername\username <enter>
