Accessible Tagged PDFs for Government Docs?

Guest

I haven't begun testing Word '07 yet but will in the next few days.
Currently we author in Word '03 and create TAGGED PDFs from Acrobat.

The tagging is essential to making PDFs 'Accessible' for use on our
government website.

In the past, I've found only Acrobat has the ability to create these tags
(with the exception of some developer tools).

Will Word '07 publish to a tagged PDF?

(you have no idea how many government entities will share my excitement if
it does!)

Thanks

Hi Neil,

During the beta testing there was a bit of dialog with MS about trying to make their PDFs more accessible, and they did work on it.
The PDF writer(save as PDF/XPS) for Office 2007 isn't going to have all of the features of a full Acrobat authoring package.

One of the folks who was a strong advocate for 'getting it right in Office 2007 is Karen McCall from Karlen Communications. You may
want to contact her through her website to see what she has to say about the final 2007 Office results as far as accessibility.
