Access XP crashes when I try to preview or design existing reports. I am
also unable to create new reports.

When I try Preview or Design, I get an error message that says: "Access
has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience." The Error Reporting wizard can't provide any information
when I send the error report.

Details are as follows:

AppName: msaccess.exe AppVer: 10.0.4302.0 ModName: msaccess.exe
ModVer: 10.0.4302.0 Offset: 000c1de6

Things I have tried (unsuccessfully):

Different databases. Error affects all I have tried so far, including
the NorthWind sample DB that ships with Access.

Installing Updates from Windows Updates.

Windows XP Service Pack (currently 1a)

Office XP Service Packs 1 and 2

The - decompile switch

Compact and Repair

Importing reports from a database that open fine in Access 97

Exporting reports from a database that open fine in Access 97 using the
undocumented "SaveAsText" and importing using "LoadFromText"

Converting working databases from 97 to 2K (no luck with that format
either) and then to XP

Getting rid of code modules attached to reports and then trying to open them

Checking and double-checking Project References

Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs | Change | Detect and Repair
errors in my Office installation

Using the Report Wizard to create a report based on an existing query
gets me this error: "The Wizard is unable to create your report."

Help! Please!

Nancy:

1.) have you tried a complete uninstall and reinstall?
2.) Have you checked for updated video drivers?
