access xp and office 2007

I have vista computer, with a version of office 2007 that does not have
Access 2007.

I also own office XP, so I want to install only Access XP to my new Vista
computer.

Anyone ever try this before? I have read about problems with the entire
office XP package living with the entire 2007 package, but I don't want to do
that.

I am searching but not really finding anything about this configuration, so
I am asking the experts out there.....

TIA

Actually the different version of office can survive ok on a single machine,
however I have found the ORDER of installion is the most important. You need
to install the older program first (2003). You can only install access 2003
if that is all you want but actually you can run both versions of office. You
will then install office 2007. Be sure to install in different locations if
you put more than access on the machine.

You find that as you open access 2003 and then switch to office 2007 you
will have a delay in the startup as there are signficant differences. 2007
will run through a "startup" process that takes several minutes while the
2003 startup is faster. This is the nature of different office software. I
actually run multiple version of office and find that 2007 is the slowest
starting IF you have started a previous version. Good luck. (Frankly I would
stick to just office 2003-I like it better.)
