Every time I boot up I get the message -
Access violation at address 0045C05D in module 'VolumeTray.exe' Read of

Can anyone help??

Hi Don,

Do Start / Run /msconfig and select the "Startup" tab. Uncheck the box
next to VolumeTray.exe and try that.

If the problem goes away and you don't need "volumetray", then you can
make that setting permanent.

Run up regedit and delete the item in HKLM or HKCU - take care to
drill down to the exact entry that has volumetray in it and only
delete that entry.
If you are not sure what regedit is - read up on that first!!

Cheers,

Thanks, the first fix worked great. I don't think I will try the regedit idea
as I only know enough to get myself into trouble.

Thanks again
Don
