Network is a Win2K Server (DC, AD, DNS, DHCP), a Win2003
fileserver, and remote clients VPN'ing in on Win98 and WinXP Pro.
WinXP pro clients can access the 2003 fileserver fine, but
the Win98 clients get the dreaded \\server\*IPC$ login request every
time they try to log in.
I know the fix is to set up a user with the exact username and
password on the server as the Win98 client, but in this case the
domain controller isn't the target machine, and after doing that on
the domain controller we still get the ipc$ login.
Should we set up a local user on the 2003 Fileserver?
Thanks..
