Access Security and MS Query Help

I have a Secured Access Database. I am using the data from one of the querys
in the DB with MS Query from Excel with a PivotTable. I get an error message
that I do not have the necessary permissions to use the protected DB. A
login window appears but entering the correct username and password does not
make a difference. The Access DB uses a .mdw file for this, I suspect that I
need MS Query to recognise this? How can I do this? Am I missing something?

Set up and use an ODBC DSN: you can put the system
workgroup setting into the DSN.

Or try this: open the database in Access, then use MS Query.

Or use Tools, WorkGroup Administrator, to change the default workgroup.
