Access runs slow across network

R

Ronni

I have a Access 2003 database that I designed a while ago before I
knew that I would be sharing it via a VPN network with two locations.
My forms do a lot of checking and thus querrying data for verification
of entry.

It runs very fast on a local computer but when using via the two
offices it is very slow on the remote location. Asside from
rewritting the entire DB are there any other options/settings I could
use to get this running faster?

Thank you.

Hi Ronni,

You might want to look into using Terminal Server. More information here, in
an article written by Access MVP Albert Kallal:

Using a wan with ms-access? How fast, how far?

Also, you might want to check out my Multiuser Applications paper, to make
sure you did not miss any opportunities to improve performance:

Good Luck.
