Access Rich Text Memo Output to Word.rtf

I really appreciate the rtf in a memo field. This will make life easier -
BUT - when I output to Word.rtf I'm still not seeing COLORS etc... I thought
the purpose of rtf memo fields was to convert to Word.

It converts in the PDF to colors, but I'd really prefer Word.

Did I miss something? Is my access broke or is this feature not supported?

Nope. The purpose is to support formatted text in Access. Since Access
actually uses HTML (not rich text) it would not work natively in Word anyway
without some elaborate conversion so they only send the plain text.

The formatting might carry over with a copy and paste, but I haven't tried
that. I'm reasonably certain that what you are seeing is "as designed".

Here's another problem.... this has got to be a bug...

I'm using rtf memo fields - in an access report. Everything in memo field
looks fine when running the report. If I output to Word - all lines show up.
(Of course without the color etc). But here's the deal - when I export to
the new PDF add-in on "some" memo fields that are long or have multiple
separate line feeds (CR/LF) it truncates the line. See examples below.
HOWEVER - if I turn on the 'border' property with width of at least 1 pt (and
it can be colored white) the lines show up!

Actual Memo field:
1) This is line 1 of 3
2) This is line 2
3) This is line 3

Without border exported to PDF:
1) This is line 1 of 3
2) This is line 2

With border exported to PDF:
1) This is line 1 of 3
2) This is line 2
3) This is line 3

I haven't found any rhyme or reason. Some of my lines are extremely long
and it truncates. Some that are just as long - it doesn't. Some of my lines
have mulitple CR/LFs - some don't. Some have Bold - some don't. It does it
where ever it seems to want to.... Not the 1st record, not the last.

I'm just steaming here - I've found my solution - albeit a pain - who do I
report it to? Adobe or Microsoft?

That has been a long-standing bug when exporting to Word. Can't say I'm
surprised to hear that it might now also happen in the new PDF option. That
IS a bug and I wouldn't hold your breath on getting it fixed.
