Access denied while taking ownership of files

Hi,

I'm running Windows 2000 Server. I have moved the server from one domain to another during an infrastructure upgrade.

Unfortunately, I now have a directory full of files which I cannot access whatsoever. I've logged in as local administrator, domain administrator but I still cannot delete the files or take ownership of them. I simply get "access denied" whatever I try.

Any ideas how to get rid of them (short of mounting the partition in Linux and nuking them from there)?

Cheers,

- Chris.

First, you must be logged in as an Administrator.

Right click on the file/folder, choose "Properties". Go to the tab
"Security" and click "Advanced". You will see a list of "Permission-posts"
(maybe a empty list?). Click "Add" and add yourself with all permissions.
Then, "OK"->"OK"->"OK". You should be able to access/remove the file/folder
now.

Access denied. I'm doing this as local administrator AND global domain administrator and I still can't get to the files.

I'm probably going to have to rebuild the server if it carries on like this.

I'm also going to say **** it and build a FreeBSD box running Samba to replace it...
