I have just installed Genuine XP Home to a new PC and then installed SP3 +
latest updates.
If I use my USB Stick in any Port, XP recognises it, the Autoplay Screen
appears allowing me to choose what I wish to do and everything works fine
from there on.
If I close the Autoplay Screen or if I close the USB Stick and then go to My
Computer
and Click on E:\Removable Disk to open it, an Error Dialog appears
"E:\Access Denied. Event Viewer shows Error ID 111.
If I use Explorer to open E:\ to open it everything is normal, all Folders
can be seen and used.
If I remove the Disk and Replug it, everything is normal, all Folders can be
seen and used.
It is only when I try to open the Disk from My Computer, E:\Removable Disk.
Other USB Sticks have the same problem on this machine.
The problem cannot be repeated on this Vista machine.
I have run SFC in case files were corrupted.
I have cleaned machine with AVG8 and MalwareBytes.
I have installed XP Home many times and have never experienced this problem.
Has this problem been seen before and does anyone have a fix for it.
Thank You
