Access Denied, Path not found, Clearing DNS Cache

G

Guest

Over the weekend I installed the new Service Pack 2 patch. I am having
problems with my network. All was working well before this install. The
server computer can see and access all shared items on client coputers.
Client coputers can access programs that are installed and pathed across the
network. Client computers can see each other and server computer. Client
computers can access shared items on other client computers but not server
computer, though the items can be seen. This is when I get either "access
denied" or "network path not found". The primary folder I am trying to
access is the shared folder.

I do not have Windows Firewall on. I have checked all systems to make sure
they are set the same and all appears to be that way. I tried performing a
repair on each. That went well except one stated that the DNS Cache couldn't
be cleared.

Please help me figure this out as my children desperately need to access
folders on the server computer for their school work.

THANKS!

assuming the ICF is disabled, what do you get if using net view
\\servername? if it is error 5, this is permission issue; if it is error 53,
this is name resolution issue.
