Access Denied message when trying to delete file

I'm trying to delete a large bittorrent file and its folder. I keep getting
the error message of Access Denied - make sure the disk is not full ,
write-protected, or in use. None of these are true. This occurred when I
accidentally dropped the folder into a windows update folder in my root
directory. (Yes, I laughed at myself as well.)

Take a look at the article explaining 'ownership'. Boot to Safe Mode, Log on
as the default "Administrator" account. Take ownership of those files.

Thanks. I'll give that a try tonight. I was almost there this morning, but
did not go as far as actually adding my user name to the owner tab.

This works for me. Close your bittorrent client or make sure the file you
downloaded is cleared from the download screen. Then you should be able to
delete the file .

Thanks for the suggestion. Mark's instructions did the trick. I've actually
had the problem with this specific file for many months and just got around
to asking for help. (The client had been closed many moons ago.)
