Access Denied making complete backup of machine on Vista Ultimate

Hi ,
I am trying to make a complete backup of my machine to quick formatted
(NTFS) USB WD 360GB Hard drive. Always get same error about 20 secs after
starting backup, Access is Denied 0x80070005.

Can anyone help?

In the event viewer I get..

Backup started at '22/09/2007 15:02:33' failed as Volume Shadow copy
operation failed for backup volumes with following error code '2147942405'.
Please rerun backup once issue is resolved.
