Access '97 "OUT OF MEMORY".

My laptop and desktop each have total RAM of 768M and yet, when I launch
Access 97 (part of the Office 97 suite), I receive the error message "OUT OF
MEMORY".
This is then followed by the following explanation:
Microsoft Access - A system error occurred or there isn't enough free memory
to start Microsoft Access. Close unheeded programs and try again.
I have recently set up the above 2 computers to share the same broadband
conenction via a D-Link router and I wonder if that could be the cause of the
problem....
I never had the chance to test Access 97 on either of them as both computers
are relatively new.

Try updating the JET database engine:

This article mentions this problem for computers that have more than 1 GB of
RAM memory:

Are you sure that you don't have more than 768 MB?
