Access 97 - copying database

I have copied a 2002/03 database for use in 2003/04. In
the reports section, the newly copied database (03/04)
asks us to "Enter Parameter value" for a field we have
called Trip Number (that increments with each record),
where the old database (02/03)went right on in and showed
all records. Could this be because of the database copy,
and how to fix it?

Also - when deleting a record with Auto Number, how do you
get the next recod to stay in proper number sequence?

Hi,

In answer to your 2nd question: When you delete a record with Auto Number
that number is no longer available.
