Guest

I have not been successful in trying to download the trial version of Access
2007 from the MS office website. I asked for help to the website and below is
a series of frustrating communications that I have had with the MS help desk.

Dear Sajit Viswan,

Thank you for choosing the Microsoft Office Online Store.

When you select another country the language is automaticly changed to
that region. There are not options for english if you choose a non
english speaking country.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please reply to this
e-mail.

I am choosing Arabic region from the link you sent, since I am in the
UAE.
The site then becomes all Arabic. I want it to be English.

I had chosen US to get English, but I am not able to make you understand
the
problem.

It is really ironic even after so many exchanges that you are still
unable
to understand my problem.

I think I should post this interaction on one of the Microsoft forums
for
people to see, what kind of support team that Microsoft has.

I want to download the Access 2007 trial version but am not able to do
so
because the site is asking me to do a registration wherein it is asking
me
to enter the country. However the drop down has only the US for a
choice.
Also it is required to enter a state and zip number, which again is only
for
the US.

Is the download restricted only to people in the US?

sheet, the set properties for the frame do not work as it says in the
help. I had more than once posted this issue on the MS forums as a

complicated as to write code that will require both applications to
interact.

Interestingly I'm based in the UK, I logged on to MS UK, and attempted to
download the trial, and was informed trial version was only available in the

Are you able to try MS India? although I suspect that when you attempt to
download, MS will recognise that your PC is not located in India & block the
download

versions of Office applications?

Silly, why can't they simply say that it is limited to the US, instead of
wasting our time.

Interestingly I'm based in the UK, I logged on to MS UK, and attempted to
download the trial, and was informed trial version was only available in
the
US.

Are you able to try MS India? although I suspect that when you attempt to
download, MS will recognise that your PC is not located in India & block
the
download

Dear Sajit Viswan,

Thank you for choosing the Microsoft Office Online Store.

When you select another country the language is automaticly changed to
that region. There are not options for english if you choose a non
english speaking country.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please reply to this
e-mail.

I am choosing Arabic region from the link you sent, since I am in the
UAE.
The site then becomes all Arabic. I want it to be English.

I had chosen US to get English, but I am not able to make you
understand
the

However the drop down has only the US for a
choice.
Also it is required to enter a state and zip number, which again is
only
for
the US.

Is the download restricted only to people in the US?

Please try to understand, See the clip below of the screen that the
link
https://us7.trymicrosoftoffice.com/trialinfo.aspx?culture=en-US takes
me
to,

It asks me to register. I had already selected US for the language in
the first screen that the link you sent me. The registration screen
does
not allow any other country other than the US . See the snap shot
above,
in html.

I am actually interested to know whether a bug in Access 2003 has been
fixed in the 2007. Therefore my interest is only in the Access 2007
trial download and not the whole MS office trial that your link takes
me
to. It is about the OLE frame in Access reports linked to an Excel
sheet, the set properties for the frame do not work as it says in the
help. I had more than once posted this issue on the MS forums as a
suggestion to MS. I had also addressed this issue to MS Access MVP,
Tejpal. He has also agreed that this is bug and work around is too
complicated as to write code that will require both applications to
interact.

I hope to see a better something better than your last reply,

Sincerely,

Sajit Viswan
