Access 2007 - template error

I've tried numerous times to get the Customer Service template for Access; it
gets to "please wait while Microsoft Office Access prepares the template for
use", I then get "Microsoft Office Access encounered errors while importing
knowledge base list".
"Template customer service.accdt could not be instantiated
An unexpected error occurred when opening the template"
This is the detailed information in the log file:
"Microsoft Office Access encountered an error while importing the object
'Knowledge Base List'.
Error encountered at line 961.
Expected: 'End'. Found: PictureCaptionArrangement."
I've installed all available updates.
Any suggestions please?

Are you using the RTM version of Access 2007 or a Beta build?
If a Beta build, what build number?

You're using a pretty old beta build of Access 2007 there.
I don't think the latest templates will work with such an older Beta build.
You should consider upgrading the build to Beta 2TR or to the RTM version if you have an MSDN
subscription.

no, I don't have a subscription, so I guess I'll just have to live with it
until the real thing is released.

That may be your only option at this point unless you want to move up to Beta 2TR.

I noticed from personal experience many issues with earlier files not working in the latest builds
and vice versa. The beta releases were still "works in progress" and quite buggy.
