Access 2007 error message "not enough disk space or memory"

I'm facing the above issue which was addressed in the help note:

I'm trying to work with a large table with 225,000 records, and about 50
fields. I can't even change the data type of a field! Is there an easier
and/or less risky way to solve this issue?

the link you provided was for Access97; and while that error message still
exists I don't think the cause is as identified in this old document.

did 2007 increase the overall record size of 2000 characters?...because with
50 fields you could be hitting that limit
