Access 2007 Beta - hangs on design view for tables

I have tried to find an answer for this or if it is a known issue but both
were unsuccessful.

I have tried to open older DB's and I have created new DB's but Access hangs
anytime I try to going into design view on a table. The design view works on
forms and queries but as I said, hangs everytime I try to use it on tables.
Also, when in form design view if I click on properties the routine hangs.

Access databases with linked Excel tables end in an error 1000

Faulting application msaccess.exe, version 12.0.4407.1002, stamp 44e43d6f,
faulting module ace.dll, version 12.0.4407.1001, stamp 44de8363, debug? 0,
fault address 0x00007a7d.

Creating a new database and trying to import Excel data: same problem.

Some extra observations:

The problem also occurs when applying tools like Analyze Performance or
Analyze Table.

I have the strong impression that the problem is related to the modules in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ACCWIZ

There's probably not much point trying to troubleshoot a problem with the
Beta now that the Beta is over. I can't reproduce this problem in the
released version.

Thanks for your reaction, Brendan!

Does that mean that the product can be purchased in Europe also?

It's not 'on the shelves' yet. Its available as part of an MSDN
subscription, and I believe it is also available though some of the
corporate licensing programmes.

I hope I'll be able to obtain a copy through MSDN then. Otherwise I´ll have a
problem up to the moment the package is on the shelves.

Installing a Beta on a production PC is always a risky business. The safest
thing to do would be to uninstall the Beta and stick with Access 2003 until
the release version of Access 2007 becomes available. If you want to
continue trying to get the Beta to work, make sure you have the most recent
version of the Beta, Beta 2 TR (Technical Refresh). If that doesn't fix it -
or if you've already tried that - try uninstalling and then re-installing
Beta 2 and the Technical Refresh.

I reinstalled Access XP and that still works fine.

But I´m still puzzled about the 2007 beta. It worked fine up to about 3
weeks ago. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but that didn#t help.

Thanks any how for your support.

Could be a conflict with something else that has been installed since -
either something that you installed yourself, or possibly something that was
installed by Automatic Updates. Maybe Internet Explorer 7? These are just
guesses, though. With the Beta now over, we'll probably never know.
