Access 2003 fails to open from mdb file

im using Access 2003 and have several mdb files on my c drive. when double
clicking the mdb file, it seems to try and load access but never does.
MSACCESS appears to be running in processes

the only way to open my mdb files is to open access 2003 from the start
menu, then open the mdb file from the open command.

anyone come across this before??

Right click no the .MDB file and look at the properties. It should say
something like Opens with Microsoft Office Access plus show the Access icon.

Another thing to try is to double click on the file while holding down the
Shift key.

You might try using Method 2, as shown in this KB article:

1.) Exit Access.
2.) Click Start, click Run, type: msaccess.exe /unregserver
in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
3.) Click Start, click Run, type: msaccess.exe /regserver
in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
