About GAC

Hi Group:
I created a managed Dll with a strong name and use GACUTIL install into GAC.
When I try to reuse that Dll though Visual Studio 03, I can not see the Dll
name which I created in Add reference window. I have to manually set
reference by going to the folder that contains that Dll. My question here is
why do I have to use the browse key on add reference window? My understanding
is once I install the Dll into GAC, I should automatically see that Dll in
the reference window.

This is not the case. The add reference window searches paths that are
set up in the registry.

Hi David:

The Add Reference dialog doesn't look in the GAC, but it does use directory
paths stored in the registry. See:
