I am trying to install WindowsXP on a ABIT NF7-S motherboard based PC, with 2
harddrives attached to the Silicon Image RAID chip as the boot device.
These 2 harddrives on the RAID chip are the only harddrives in the system, and
they are configured as RAID-1 (mirrored).
I successfully started the installation from the XP CD, pressed F6 to install
the RAID driver, chose the mirror set as the partition to install on, and the
installation formatted the disk and copied the files. After the copying, the
system rebooted, but when it wanted to start from the disks, it claimed it
couldn't find a valid disk. So obviously something must not be configured
properly in the CMOS settings. Or do I have to boot from the CD again after
copying the files?
Can anyone help with the proper settings for this motherboard? I tried "Boot
from Serial ATA" but that didn't succeed.
Please help.
Regards,
