A8V Deluxe sound question

Dear List,

I have the A8V Deluxe motherboard and am using the audio built into the
board. I also have a Creative Audigy sound card. Apart from the sound
quality, which isn't really an issue for me, is there any reason to use the
Audigy? I believe that I once heard that the hardware acceleration of the
Audigy card might reduce the load on the CPU. Is there any truth to this?

I'll be most grateful for any help. Good wishes to all.

Yes, the Audigy has a DSP chip on it (digital signal processor) that, like
the Graphics processor of a video card, does lots of work so that the CPU
doesn't have to. The Audigy, during heavy gaming, can reduce CPU hits a
little.

If you don't want the sound card, let me know if you are putting it up for
grabs. I'd LOVE to have that Audigy.
