a7v8x-x cpu voltage

I've adjusted the core v. to 1.7, but mbm5 and asus probe still show 1.68
manual shows no need to switch jumper for1.5-1.85.
any suggestions as to why i can't change bios to affect this change. do i
need to flash bios?

My vCore is set to 1.6 but reports 1.58, same difference as 1.7 to 1.68.
Its small and the sensors arent strictly accurate -its possible they
over or under report the true value by much more than 0.02 of a volt~

I read it here that if you do switch the overvolt jumper
the bios doesnt report the change but cpu does get more volts and
probe reports the higher overvolted values - Ive not tried it myself.

Unless you have great cooling and PSU I dont think youll benefit from
giving the Barton more than 1.7.

I tried 180 fsb too - but couldnt make it last, dont know if the
problem was heat, power, or overclocked PCI.
