a7v8x-x boot to setup menu

"occasionally" my system will boot to the setup menu after being turned off
for a period of time (over night). The set up options remain intact. I just
check the settings and save and exit. no issues at all in use.

2500+(1958mhz), +- 40c usually
a7v8x-x, bios 1006
512 kingston pc3200 2,2,2,6 timings
audigy 2, radeon 7500(64ddr,4 x agp)
wd ata100, burner, dvd,
win98se

so, I check for the latest bios and read about the fix.
ie. solves issues with "some" wireless keyboards and mouse. I have a
logitech keyboard and mouse. It's new!
top of the line, rechargable mouse (hum). gave up my old corded optical for
it. Properly installed and works great. Keyboard and mouse installed at time
of build.

After doing some looking around, I don't think my settings are excessive,
lots of fans, got the windows shutdown fix and all that (not sure that would
be an issue here anyways) and the battery is new(came with the board) no
checksum errors.

I am really dogged by this as it is the only hick up i got with this one.

if anyone can help, greattt.

Could it be that the fans you've connected to the motherboard
headers are temperature controlled ? My PS fan, for example, is
connected to the motherboard, and when I first power up in the
morning, the PS fan runs slower than the threshold in the BIOS.
By the time I enter the BIOS to check it, it has already begun
to spin fast enough to no longer be a problem.

Assuming this is your problem, you can either set a fan to
"Ignore" to stop this from happening, or connect the fan to a
drive connector adapter and just don't bother monitoring the fan
any more.

thnx
i got a fan on the chasis header, the others are on adapters. I will give
the ignore suggestion a try. ultimately i'll just ad another adapter.sounds
good.
and again, thnx
