A7v8x looses CPU speed at night

My one year old A7v8x is loosing the basic settings (cpu speed, disks
settings
splash screen option....) when the PC is shut off for the night.

Hovewer, date and time are still kept correctly, so it should not be the
battery failing.

Does anyone have an idea what's going on ?

It will be the battery failing as it cannot be anything else. A
battery is also cheap and easy to replace. Give it a go.

Weird thing is that it happened two nights in a row, but not over a full
week-end !

Computers do things like that so we will die early. That's how they
propose to take over the world <g>.

I have had similar 'adventures' recently and I reckon my PC has
shortened my life by a few years.
