A7V600 Bus Confusion

Howdy,

I thought I knew what was happening, now I'm confused.

I have a 1.6 Duran that the BIOS sets at a multiplier of 12 and frequency of
133/33, but this processor family is supposed to run a 266 FSB and the
manual BIOS settings only go up to 250. Am I to assume that this
motherboard knows what to do and is doubling the 133 sending 266 to the
chips, 33 to PCI, 533 to my 8x AGP, and 400 to my DDR400 memory?

yes, yes yes

and 400 to my
DDR400 memory?

no. Hopefully the mobo will set you up to run in sync with FSB, that is
133MHz doublepumped for effective 266MHz. There is not any benefits in
running RAM faster than FSB, because that will mean that the chipset must
introduce extra latency to translate signals between two domains running 2
different clockfrequencies.

Howdy Again,

Thank you Egil for easing my mind. Regarding the memory; at one time I did
manually set it to 400 in the BIOS but computer didn't like it so set it
back to <AUTO>.
