a7v333 question on what cpu and memory

As a christmas gife I am getting two a7v333 for kids machines to do
homework ( ha! ha!) and games. I am on a tight budget but I dont want
to skimp here too much but I cannot afford to go overboard here.

What is a good cpu for Price and performance ? where should I look buy it

What is a good mix on the memory. I was thinking 256 PC2700 or PC2100.
Is there a problem still on what type of memory to use. I was looking
at this
CORSAIR 256MB PC2700 32X64 CL2.5 DDR for $40.00,.

Any suggestions I would appreciate it

The corsair's fine, but cas 2 pc2700 really rocks, all the reviewers
agreed, only use cas2 to unlock the real performance, and then
you need to run the cpu and ram synchronously. My son's oc'ing
a amd 2100 rev b cpu to 2700mghz att 166/333fsb with 512 megs cas2
kingston hyperx, low 40's under load, I went the safe route with
a amd 2600/333 and same ram!
Oc'ing the cpu is a crapshoot!
