A7N8X-X Duron950 no boot

P

PLM

Asus A7N8X-X rev1.01
Duron 950
Samsung 256 ddr pc1600 slot 1
Ati rage fury pro 64mb agp

On power up it goes to bios (without beep) which says that the cpu
speed is set at the lowest value (950). When I save and exit the
machine will not reboot. The fans continue to run. Reset will not work
but the power switch will turn it off. Powering on again will turn
the fans back on, but there is no boot-not even to the bios.

Open the main on the PSU and pull the cord and wait a few seconds,
then power up and it boots to bios again.

I have set the core voltage to 1.7. I have disconnected the drives,
and cleared the cmos, same thing.

All help appreciated.

I`m sure that I read somewhere that you need ah! yes.
On page 11 of the manual it says
Do not use processors with core speeds of less than 1Ghz on this
motherboard.
I hope this helps.

My manual reads 600MHz-2.25GHz on page 1-4. But I think you are right
since the duron 950 is not on the list as a supported cpu on the asus
site.

Now I wonder if DDR200 is supported.

Thanks for your relpy.
