A7N8X Rev 2 Deluxe bios settings?

Tobamore

Hello again,
I have upgraded my Ram to 1Gb of PC 3200 (Corsair MCVS2028). I have
the above m/b and an Athlon XP 2400 (266Mhz), please tell me the best bios
settings for my memory and cpu as Sisoft Sandra is telling me that my memory
benchmarks are pretty low compared to the other pc3200 systems?

Just a thought, but a XP2400 runs with an fsb of 133 and PC3200 mem is
designed to runs at fsb of 200 possibly higher.
So your memory is probably running not in sync with your CPU fsb, so it
is not running at full capacity. This will explain your lack in
performence in SisoftS.

Things you can maybe do:
-set your mem to run "by spd", it should then run at 200 automatically.
-set your mem timings low, example 6-2-2-2, or 6-3-3-2.5

The 1st and 2nd, should increase memory performence.

good luck,

Bob

Lock your RAM to 100%. Getting the FSB(and RAM) above 166 should be
easy. Anything else is a joke compared to the improvements that will
give. For a higher RAM score change that 6 to a 10 or 11.

I have 6 or 7 Barton's 2500+ @ 3200+, two on A7N8X DLX v2.0. These are
my BIOS settings:

CPU FSB [197]
CPU Freq setting [menu]
CPU freq multiple [11.0x]
System performance [user define]
CPU interface [optimal]
Memory frequency [100%]
Memory timings [optimal]
CPU Vcore [menu]
CPU Vcore [1.7v]
AGP Freq [66MHz]
System bios cacheable [disable]
Video ram cacheable [disable]
DDR Rerf voltage [2.7v]
AGP [1.6v]
AGP 8x [enabled]
AGP fastwrite capability [disabled]
