A7N8X Deluxe onboard sound problems

I have an An78x Deluxe and I'm getting the problems where you can hear your
hard drive/mouse being used as static.
I've tried the following:

1. I've download the lastest version of the drivers for the board (nforce
download from nvidia) and the latest video card drivers (from ati).
2. I've tried muting everything except wav and master volume and the static
noise persists.
3. I've tried different headphones and the noise persists.
4. I checked the reverb and chorus and they are both 0%
5. I tried pretty much every combo of checkboxes in the speaker setup tab
but to no change.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what else I can try please respond.

This happens for me until I mute the Line In.

I get that same exact problem too! I thought it was my onboard sound that was bad.

Yah thats worked for others but not me :/

Yea i also tried to mute the lineout, but i still get the same
problem. It kinda comes and goes right? Anyone else have this
problem????

I had this problem with another board
it was because I was using cheep ram
Never would have thought at the time but when it failed
and I replaced it the static was gone lol
