A7N8X Deluxe Firewire not working

Hello NG !

I'm trying to use the Firewire bracket from my Asus A7N8X Deluxe to
synchronize my iPOD and to acquire video from my Sony PC101 camera.
So far I've only tried to use my iPOD with no luck. It will only be
recognized time to time as a firewire device (I can only charge my iPOD).
There is no problem with the iPOD, works well with the firewire port from a
VAIO.
I went to my dealer and he changed my firewire bracket (with the cables) but
it solved nothing ...
Windows XP SP1 recognize the ports but time to time I got a yellow ! "Cannot
start device" or something like this.
I've tried to upgrade to the "new" Nvidia drivers from Asus site but with no
more luck :-(

Any clue ? or do I have to buy a PCI firewire card ?

I have no solution for you, except the one I used with my non-deluxe A7N8X ;
I bought a $9 VIA based firewire card and my iPod is charging and
transferring files without a hiccup. Good luck.

I don't have issues with my IPOD, it's works fine and charges. I use the
firewire outlets in the back, I never got the front connections to work.
